These wooden stamps engraved in Rosewood are used for printing Indian textiles - often called "Indiennes" in cotton. Each stamp represents a color.
The colors are often natural pigments. The craftsman dips the stamp in these famous pigments and applies freehand superpositions of colors and therefore stamps on the fabric.
